Special Needs Bicycle

Friday 30 March 2007 @ 4:20 pm

First of all, this is NOT A PAID POST. I am posting about this as 5 Minutes For Mom will be listing my blog in their directory. So, I’m returning this favour for a good cause.

Here’s an extract from the website, http://www.caboosetrailerbike.com/:

Do you have a family member who can’t ride a traditional bike on a long trip because he or she has special needs, is a new rider or is elderly?

With this stable two wheel trailer bike, your entire family can join the fun of bike riding.

A parent, caretaker or older sibling simply attaches the trailer bike to any regular bicycle. It has all the benefits of a tandem bike, but the unique two wheel design allows stability making it possible for less experienced riders and those with special needs to enjoy the thrill of riding a real bicycle.

My Disney World Wish

Wednesday 28 March 2007 @ 11:58 am

One of the item on my wish list is to bring the kids to visit Disney World in Orlando. I have even worked out where to stay should my dream come true. Lol.

I’ve surfed the net and found some impressive Orlando condos which has facilities for a great family vacation. Being equipped with kitchens and having amenities like swimming pools is just such a great convenience to us. If you are interested to stay at these condos, drop me a note and I’ll give you the contact numbers.

Freaking Out

Tuesday 27 March 2007 @ 11:21 am

Goodness gracious, I almost had a heart attack just now. After I posted the post before this one, my sidebar disappeared and so did all my other posts!!!

After reading 5xMom’s sites being hacked, I panicked and emailed her and my webhost asking them for advice. Luckily, I rechecked and managed to view my other posts via the search button on the top left hand corner of the blog template. Phew!

So, I think it must be the widget that I installed for the poll that should take the blame for all my hoo ha. *wipes away cold sweat* I wish I had asked for some tips from Chris before I installed that one. Hai….

Can Man & Woman Have Platonic Relationship?

Tuesday 27 March 2007 @ 10:13 am

What do you think? Can men and women have platonic relationships? My answer is it depends on individuals. I have a male friend whom I’ve known for more than 6 years, we remember each other’s birthdays and there’s always a birthday present on our birthdays but we don’t share our deepest darkest secret. We’ve remained good friends through my married life and his bachelor days to his current “attached” status.

So, what’s your take on this? Please vote via the poll below. This polling system is inspired by Chris. Thanks, ya!

Shopping For Furniture

Monday 26 March 2007 @ 12:49 pm

My son’s room is currently being used as a playroom. It’s empty of other furnitures other than a single bed and boxes of my kids’ toys. So, I was thinking of slowly furnishing his room as he is almost ready to sleep in his room soon (I hope!). I saw this particular dresser at Powell Furniture which looks pretty trendy. I have the pic attached here. It looks just nice for a boy’s room, don’t  you think? Hmmm…I think I will drop by the showroom and buy it before stock runs out :)

Treating Dry Skin

Friday 23 March 2007 @ 3:30 pm

I am a person who have dry skin because I never bothered to mosturize until I I was in my mid 20’s. So, I’m sharing with you some info I’ve read…

Here are some reasons that causes dry skin:

  • cold weather and low humidity
  • central heating system
  • aging due to lower estrogen level and the fact that our skin do not produce as much oils
  • other reasons include dehydration, malnutrition, diabetes, eczema and low thyroid hormones

How to treat Dry Skin?

  1. If you use lukewarm water, do not take long showers or baths
  2. Apply moisturizer while skin is still damp to seal in the moisture
  3. Use mild soap like Dove and avoid perfumed soap
  4. If you could afford one, use a humidifier at home
  5. Avoid skin care products that contain alcohol
  6. Don’t wash your face too frequently
  7. Wear Sunscreen
  8. Use Moisturizers that contains emolients such as urea and mineral oils which can provide a barrier to keep moisture in and harmful agents out

Uploading Photo

Thursday 22 March 2007 @ 3:30 pm

Each time I uploaded a photo on this blog, it seems to be in thumbnail size. I did not have this problem with my old WP blog previously and I dunno why this is happening.

I tried using the same photo on blogspot and there’s no problem enlarging them. So, it’s not the size of the photo that’s the problem. Initially, I thought it was because photos taken by my 2MP handphone camera resulted in the thumbnail size.

Anybody has any idea how to fix that issue? Appreciate some help here, terimaaaaa kasiiiiii!

Feedback or Complain

Thursday 22 March 2007 @ 11:30 am

We women love to complain. NO. Let me rephrase that so I do not get thrown with rotten tomatoes….I’m a woman who loves to complain.

Call it feedback, call it complain, call it whatever you want but I can vouch that it works to get you the attention you want. This is one secret recipe I learnt through my experience in the Customer Service line. Of course, don’t complain over petty issues if you can avoid it. My actions have resulted in me getting free travel size skin care items, results that I want, a certain banks regional head calling me up, waiver of late payment charges and many more.

I remembered a week back when I was checking in for my flight and there was a long queue. My colleagues and I were routed to the international check in counter. Upon reaching there, the MAS staff was upset with us despite the fact that there was no one queueing up. We explained that why we were routed there but she continued to mumble that she needed to check whether she can do it…yadda yadda yadda. Of course, we were equally upset by her service. So, while waiting for her to check, there was this small customer feedback machine placed at the counters. Being the evil women that we are, we proceeded to vent our frustration through our feedback. Guess what? I believe that MAS staff could not bear the *tit tit tit* sound we made with the machine,so she changed her tone to a sweet one. Sheeesh! Too late, she did not get a good review from us. *ngek*

So you see, I believe I am a very much dreaded and hated customer but who cares, I get what I want. Never, never under estimate the power of feedback and threat complain from a woman ;)

This Can’t Be Happening!

Tuesday 20 March 2007 @ 4:58 pm

I blogged about how my handphone kaput a month back and that I bought a new one. So, here’s a look at the features of my sickening cell phone Nokia 6233:

nokia.jpg
  • A small, sleek mobile device with indulgent stainless steel - the perfect balance of features for both business and pleasure
  • Real time access to information at all times through mobile broadband
  • High quality sound through stereo speakers and 3D surround sound
  • Up to 70MB total memory (6MB internal + 64MB memory card) for storing videos, pictures, and messages
  • 2-megapixel camera with 8x smooth, digital zoom and landscape mode
  • Stereo FM radio and music player
  • Enhanced Java email client for easy sending and receiving of information
  • Spam filter to avoid junk mail
  • Supports video sharing, streaming, and recording capabilities
  • Video, MP3, eACC+, and 64-bit polyphonic ringing tones
  • Weight: 110 g
  • Dimensions: 108 x 46 x 18 mm, 81 cc

Amboi, sounds so canggih, ya? No doubt the features are better than my old phone but a couple of days after I bought it, I couldn’t retrieve the data from my memory card. Then, I sent it back and they format the memory card for me. Oklah, this ignorant woman did not know that the memory card have to format *duh*. So, all the info stored in the card were lost. That’s why I asked for some of your numbers again.

Now, guess what, yesterday I was MMS-ing photos to my email account and it blacked out. Sheesh!!! Can you believe it??? Die, die, try but cannot power on. I’m so totally bummed out by this. Sent back to the technician today and they did who-the-heck-cares-what something on my handphone. So far, so good but I lost my photos and data in the memory card again. I tell you, I am so super duper pissed off mad. Lucky, it’s the hub who sent the phone over. Else, tomorrow you will read in the paper “Crazy Woman Kills Technician Over Handphone Problem“.

Psst psst….remember, don’t buy this phone, ya?

Slow Journey

Monday 19 March 2007 @ 1:42 pm

I’ve asked for feedback in the PPP forum on whether I should shift this blog away but seems that everyone is in favour of WP. So, here I am still here…

I’m happy so say that I’ve made a little progress in learning up on WP. So far, have managed to upload a plugin and a couple of themes. Minor steps but nevertheless, I still call that improvement.

Now, I need to add in a header banner but don’t know how to. If anyone has any idea how to do it, please share, ya? Thanks in advance!

Political Graveyard

Thursday 15 March 2007 @ 5:07 pm

There is a unique side called The Political Graveyard which features  U.S. political history and cemeteries. It is the Internet’s most comprehensive source for American political biography, listing 138,150 politicians, living and dead.

The information on the site includes certain federal officials, state officeholders and candidates in all 50 states, state and national political party officials, federal and state judges, and mayors (including candidates at election for mayor) of qualifying cities. However, do take heed that the listings are incomplete as development of the database is a continually ongoing project. If you are searching for a specific individual, try the alphabetical index of politicians. For example, George Lindemann will fall under “L”.

For those who are doing research papers on politicians, you  may find this website useful.
