Help Fight Heart Disease

Friday 25 January 2008 @ 3:44 pm

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of American women and men? Just to prove how common heart disease is, I would like to share with you the fact that my father in law had gone for a heart bypass and one of my childhood friend had passed away suddenly only last year due to heart attack too.

However, the good news is that heart disease can be prevented. Hence, I am writing this to join the millions of people across the country to raise awareness on the knowledge and tools available in reducing the risks of heart disease.

Doing their part to take some positive action is Campbell, who is teaming up with six-time Grammy-award winner Toni Braxton and designer Lisa Perry to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. Perry created three exclusive Campbell’s red dress designs, and America is invited to vote on its favorite by visiting GoRedWithCampbells.com from December 20, 2007 – January 30, 2008 . For each vote cast, Campbell will donate $1 to the American Heart Association (up to $100,000). The winning design will be unveiled by Braxton at the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards to kick off American Heart Month (February).

You can easily help by spreading the word about this important campaign to help fight heart disease. Head over to  GoRedWithCampbells.com  for more information and tips on leading a heart-healthy lifestyle, and for a variety of healthy recipes.

Houston Rodeo, Here We Come!

Saturday 19 January 2008 @ 2:50 pm

Believe it or not, my brother in law has already purchased the 2008 Houston Rodeo Tickets as he is a big rodeo fan. Mind you, the tickets are not cheap but knowing that we will be flying over there for a vacation, he has sponsored the tickets for our whole family.

My brother in law also attended the 2007 event and told us that it was an experience not to be missed since we are going to be there. What I am looking forward to is actually the concert that comes after the rodeo event which features some of the biggest names in country, rock, hip hop and latin music.

We were told that when the rodeo events are completed a stage is moved to the center of the ring and rotates to provide all seats with a clear view of the artists. I know my kids are eagerly hoping to see performers like Miley Cyrus but I secretly would love to see Maroon 5 and Faith Hill sing.

Best of all, we are getting the very much coveted Action Seats, which are along both sides of the rodeo ring and include complimentary food and beverages. I’m so excited, I can’t wait! Houston Rodeo, here we come!

Increase In Spam Comments

Saturday 19 January 2008 @ 2:29 pm

I don’t know whether anyone of you are experiencing this but my spam comments seem to increase and are undetected by the Askimet spam plugin that I installed. It used to be pretty good but lately, all these comments are coming into my comment moderation. I wonder whether this is because of the No Follow links that they are using these day.

What comment spam plugin are you currently using? I’m willing to try others if they are more effective.

Save On International Calls

Saturday 5 January 2008 @ 4:27 pm

To those who have relatives or friends whom you constantly stay in touch with overseas, you will know that international calling cards can save you a huge chunk of money.

My brother in law is staying in the US and he usually calls home using phone cards. We were told that it is very cheap to call back this way and I have no doubt that it is true as he always has long chats with my in laws when he calls home.

If you want to purchase these cards or learn more about how you can save on call charges, head over to PinkShark.com and check out their promotional phone cards and cheap international calling cards.
