Under Armour, the leader in performance apparel and footwear, has launched their fifth annual “Power in Pink” campaign. As part of the “Power in Pink” campaign, Under Armour is encouraging survivors and women currently living with breast cancer to share their inspirational stories of strength and survival at www.underarmour.com/powerinpink. Under Armour will select three stories of undeniable courage to become the new faces of the “Power in Pink” campaign and star in national magazine and online advertisements and in-store visuals. Stories will be accepted through April 30, 2008.
In 2003, Under Armour created the “Power in Pink” campaign to help educate female athletes about the benefits of physical activity in helping to overcome breast cancer and lead a healthy lifestyle. During the months of September and October, while supplies last, consumers will be able to purchase exclusive, ribbon-imprinted styles at www.uawomen.com/powerinpink and retail locations nationwide including Dick’s Sporting Goods, The Sports Authority, Modell’s and Nordstrom. Visitors to the site will be able to read the stories of the three survivors and learn about their resolve to overcome breast cancer. In addition, the site will feature links to key educational resources.
For each item purchased at Under Armour throughout the “Power in Pink” promotion, $2.00 will be donated to breast cancer charities. Since its inception five years ago, Under Armour’s donation amount has more than doubled each year through the continued growth in popularity of the “Power in Pink” apparel and accessories.

My family practically tells me that I live on my laptop. It’s true that I am online almost 12 hours a day, so I can tell you, I have learned a thing or two about laptops. LOL. Thus, I thought it was appropriate that I share a few tips with you on how to choose the right laptop screens. I do not want to be too technical about it, so this is going to be easy to understand. Not many people are aware that if you want to purchase the laptop that works for you, it is important to choose one with the right screen too.
1. What’s the purpose of the laptop?
- If it’s mainly used for work or research - choose a standard aspect ratio screen.
- If it’s meant for playing games, a standard aspect ratio screen will do, although widescreens will be an advantage.
2. Do you commute with your laptop?
- I travel a lot with my laptop and the fact that it has a 17″ screen is really frustrating because a large portion of the weight on the laptop comes from the screen. So, if you commute often, try getting a laptop with a smaller screen.
3. Display quality
- This one is pretty straightforward. Just compare the display on one laptop with another. Whatever looks better and is easier on the eye works for me.
Of course, there are other criterias to consider but these will be the very basic points to note if you are not a tech-geek. Works for me, so I hope works for you too!
Have you heard of chelation therapy? Chelation is the use of EDTA to bind molecules, such as heavy metals toxicity or minerals, and “chelate”, or remove, them from the body.
How does this therapy heath improve one’s health? Basically, all chelators are considered to be removers of heavy metals toxicity. EDTA is the only chelator that has been used over the last 50 years to also reverse the effects of arterial plaque, thus preventing further strokes, and/or heart attacks. This is made possible as liquid EDTA can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream where it begins to chelate toxic and heavy metals, along with excessive mineral deposits. When metals and minerals remain in the bloodstream, they accumulate and harden, causing poor circulation. Thus, by cleansing the body’s arteries and veins, the blood flow is increased. Proper blood flow will supply the body with nutrients and oxygen, which are essential for the body to recuperate, regenerate and function normally once again.
To make a long story short, chelation therapy is the safe, fast and cost effective way to clean your veins and arteries. If you are looking to renew your health and enjoy life to the fullest, chelation therapy is definitely an option that should be considered.
I hate carpet cleaning, really I do! I had attempted to clean my house carpets myself a couple of years back but finally gave up doing that. Instead, I had resorted to hiring a carpet cleaning service to do the work once a year.
Many have asked me about my experience in hiring these carpet cleaners. So, here I am sharing a few tips on how to choose a good carpet cleaning company to do the job for you. Basically, you need to ensure that the company you select has carpet cleaners that are trained in complete carpet care and the chemistry of spot and stain. It is also important that the company is kept up-to-date on manufacturer cleaning recommendations and the staff doing the job are well informed in these areas. You can actually gauge their level of understanding and experience by asking a few questions like:
- What kind of chemicals do you use?
- Do fabric protectors really work?
- How do you treat pet stains and odor?
Finally, when you call for an estimate, a quality cleaning service company will ask a series of questions which will help detect any conditions which may involve an extra charge. They will then evaluate the situation and let you know up front what is the cost to expect.
Other factors like professionalism when the staff attends to you and testimonials from their websites can also tell you how good they are. So, keep a look out on all of the above pointers and it will help in your selection process. Have fun searching!
